Hello friends and readers!
It's been six months since I updated you on my writing projects, and I thought I'd do a quick check-in.
I'm about eight posts away from posting the final sections of my serialized novel SONG OF THE RED LEGGED BIRDS. If you've not started it yet, dive into Chapter 1: Struck.
The fantastic publication Sci-Fi Shorts published a couple of my short stories: The Traveler and A Quarter of an Inch.
I published a short story turned longish called mmm Bot. It has nothing to do with the group Hanson and everything to do with a video game bot and a grieving father. This was a lot of fun to write. Don't judge me. Hah.
In the long story turned short department, I released Scars. Maybe I'll come back to this one someday.
I tabled a long piece called Tim Reaper about a grim reaper who attends a work conference. It's written, but I've not been pleased with the ending.
I also tabled a piece called Perf about a Mars Rover's final days. This one is cooking in my mind, half-written, not yet al dente.
In the next month or so I’ll publish a dark and trippy story called The Pole. Think The Lottery meets Running Man. Something like that. It’s a runaway random idea about those very tall electrical poles and pushing 5k words at this point.
I've spent time researching my second novel TRUTH, a dystopian tale about a female marathon champion turned package delivery runner in Boston. It remains around 70k words so far, destined for 120k–but I've come to understand precisely where I'm going with it, story-wise. Now determining if I want to format it for serialization.
I've recently read Pallas by Lisa Kuznak, which is very cool and recommended. Check out her other writing on Mechanical Pulp. I'm currently reading Suttree by Cormac McCarthy, Ghost Story by Peter Straub, and The Puzzle Master by Danielle Trussoni. Yes, at the same time. Paperback, Audible, and Kindle. I'm weird that way.
I really do appreciate you taking the time to read, comment, share, and support my work. It’s a ton of fun to write, but fulfilling when it’s read and enjoyed.
Bill

I'm simply thrilled you're following your dreams! Good on ya, Bill!!
